The Pharisees were growing more curious about Jesus. They felt like it was time to ask Him about the Kingdom of God since the OT has so much to say about it. Wisely, Jesus connects the Kingdom of God with His presence among them. The Kingdom of God, according to Jesus is already, but not yet.
Sermon in a Sentence: Christ makes the difference! Get ready, He is coming back.
I see three significant eras to which Jesus foresees:
A Time to Prepare 17:20-21
The Kingdom of God is already present within your reach.
Let Him in.
A Time to Persevere 17:22-30
The conversation shifts to the disciples.
I see a historical repeat coming unless our nation calls out to God.
A Time to Pray 17:31-37
You must remain ready. (See 18:1!)
Separate yourselves from anything that has a grip on your affections.
