The Romans Road to Christ
Sermon in a Sentence:
Knowing we were helpless, God made His move at just the right time; give away yourself to God.
Five stepping-stones on the Romans Road that leads us to Christ:
- Romans 3:10-12 From birth there is not one of us who is righteous, no not one.
These verses echo a number of OT passages. All of them underscore what is called Total Depravity. I encourage you to study this doctrine and learn it well.
- Romans 5:6-11 Highlighting His peculiar love, God sent His Son Jesus to die for us.
These verses spotlight four gracious benefits of the death of Christ: Acquittal, Safety, Ceasefire!
- Romans 6:22-23 Choose the right master in this life because it will determine where you spend the next one.
What do you gain by snubbing God’s offer? You are not getting any younger friend!
- Romans 10:9-13 Jesus is Lord; say it and believe it.
The Bible nowhere teaches a universal salvation. All have sinned, but not all will be saved. What are the conditions in Romans?
- Romans 12:1-2 In light of all this mercy, give away yourself to God.
The Gospel is not working in you until you apply it. What kind of sacrifice is God looking for in these verses?
