September 1, 2019 “Safe in the Hour of Trial” Revelation 3: 7-13
September 3, 2019
Take-Away’s from Revelation 3:7-13, Safe in the Hour of Trial.
To the Church in Philadelphia
Pastor’s Main Idea: In this world we will have trouble; hold fast to Christ and He will reward your loyalty.
The pastor said on Sunday, coming into weekly contact with the Scriptures like we do every week promotes O_____________, R___________ L_____________.
In 3:8 why didn’t Jesus admonish the church at Philadelphia for their little power? How was that a good thing for which He actually seems to praise them?
How does spiritual weakness work to our advantage?
Because of their loyalty, Jesus promises four out of this world rewards:
- I will C_________ you v9. The pastor sees vindication as a reward for the loyal ones.
- I will K_________ you v10. How do you interpret the word “from” in v10?
- I will C_________ you v11. Don’t reduce the glory of heaven to an object like a crown.
- I will C_________ you v12. Using the vernacular of Philadelphia, Jesus borrows words they have heard before. Etching one’s name on a pillar was an honor. Jesus will make the loyal ones of the church pillars in the temple of God and He will write His name on them. The pastor sees this as a comforting statement to the loyal ones in Philadelphia. Jesus will make them P_____________ F______________ in heaven!
