Take-Away’s from Revelation 5, Sovereignty Sealed Up In A Scroll
Main Idea: The end of human history is meticulously planned by the Father but look to the Lamb of God and you will overcome the Tribulation.
As the heavenly choir in Revelation 4:11 catches their breath, John catches sight of a scroll in the right hand of the Father. It is mentioned eight times in chapter 5 underscoring its importance.
The contents of the scroll are what is called The Great Tribulation, seven years of intense and painful judgment from God against sin. The objects of this tribulation are the enemies of God.
As you consider where John is and why he is there, why is John weeping this way? The verb to weep, is in the Greek imperfect tense telling us that he continues on and on.
