An Honored Place Among the Faithful
Joshua 14:6-15
Sunday, February 9, 2025
Dr. Kelly B. Burton
After the conquest of Ai, a new generation of people stood at the edge of the Promised Land. Caleb and Joshua were the oldest men in the nation at that time. Forty-five years later Caleb remembers God’s promise to him. When the people of Judah are called forward for the distribution of their land, Caleb speaks up. Instead of slowing down in his old age, Caleb amps up his faith and exhibits three necessary traits we should all embrace in our Christian journey: Passion, Grit, and Blessing.
14:6-9 Passion
What phrase is repeated three times in 6-15?
Wholehearted Following!
14:10-12 Grit
“I am 85 years old and still ready to fight!”
“I shall drive them out just like God said.”
14:13-15 Blessing
What was so special about a “blessing”?
Blessing in God’s name taps into His power and His resources.
