Have you ever come up against a formidable circumstance? I mean one that you knew there was no way around. When you prayed it was as if God said, “Wait on Me. Listen to Me. Obey Me.” All of us experience daunting episodes in our lives that require trust that changes you. That is what is happening in Joshua 3. Chapters 3 and 4 actually go together, but I will tackle one at a time. I hope this sermon helps you to see that the essence of true faith is to trust where you cannot see. Listen to the words of the LORD.
Time to Wait 3:1-6
God could have chosen any other time of the year!
How long did they see, hear, and feel the strong current of the Jordan River?
Time to Listen 3:7-13
V9, “Come here and listen to the words of the LORD your God.”
V8, Why not just part the Jordan let us barrel through to the other side?
Time to Obey 3:14-17
How many times is the ark mentioned in chapter 3?
These verses are the climax of the chapter.
The Main Idea: The essence of true faith is to trust where we cannot see. Listen to the words of the Lord.
