Be Strong and Courageous
Joshua 1:1-9
January 5, 2025
Dr. Kelly B. Burton
Joshua appears in our Old Testament as the first of the twelve historical books (Joshua-Esther). The purpose of putting Joshua in the Bible is to describe God’s giving of the promised land of Canaan to His chosen people Israel. 1:1-9 points out a sort of an Inauguration Day. Moses died and now Joshua was elected by God as the new Commander in Chief to lead His people to His promise. But it will not be easy. Trust and obedience lead to life with God. Focus on the Word and will of God.
