Good News for All the People
Luke 2:1-20
December 22, 2024
Dr. Kelly B. Burton
Luke’s Christmas story does not begin with a long genealogy. That is not Luke’s aim. Luke contrasts the birth of John the Baptist in chapter 1, with the birth of Jesus in chapter 2. John’s birth announcement is made in the majesty of the Temple. Jesus is born in Bethlehem, in simple clothes and laid in a feeding trough. God wants us to meet His promised Savior as One who identifies with all of us. God is concerned for people regardless of their social status or occupation. Don’t be afraid to meet Jesus.
Sermon in a Sentence: God is concerned for people regardless of their social status or occupation. Don’t be afraid to meet Jesus.
