The Faithful Confession
1 John 1:1-10
November 3, 2024
Dr. Kelly B. Burton
There is a marvelous tension in Christian thought between the divine and the human nature of Jesus. In the first century, people called Gnostics attempted to derail the church of their orthodox beliefs in Jesus. They claimed Jesus could not have been fully God and fully human at the same time. I want you to know that what you believe about Jesus greatly affects how you live. John wants to bolster your assurance that you are saved. If you walk in the Light, you have fellowship with God and His Son.
Sermon in a Sentence: Don’t confuse the church. Live out your confession and discover joy and assurance.
