Psalm 37 underscores the providence of God. God’s providence means God is continually involved with us in such a way that He cooperates with all our decisions and directs our lives to fulfill His purpose. We have all experienced the circumstances of this Psalm. The wicked are always out to cause suffering to the faithful. We are not to fret. God will frustrate their plans and secure our future.
Sermon in a Sentence: God is intimately involved in the lives of the faithful. Persevere to the end.
Three encouraging signs of the Providence of God:
1. 37:18-20 God sets the number of our days and works good out of every episode.
2. 37:23-24 God plans the steps of the righteous and catches them when they fall.
3. 37:37-40 God gifts an inheritance to the faithful, but the wicked will fade away.
