God, the Royal Reciprocator
Philippians 4:10-20
December 29, 2024
Dr. Kelly B. Burton
This is the final and by far the most fascinating of all four chapters of Philippians. Up to this point in the letter we have not seen a direct thank you from Paul for the church’s financial gift to him. That is not uncommon in the East. Friendship in the East is much deeper than here in the West. A person who gave a gift to someone knew to expect something in return. But how was Paul going to reciprocate if he was in prison? No worries. God would cover Paul and reciprocate His riches to the church. God promises to benefit those who give.
Sermon in a Sentence: God promises to benefit those who give. Stay in step with the Holy Spirit.
I. 4:10-14 The Secret of Contentment

1. Verse 7: The _____________ of God.
2. Verse 9: The _____________ of God.
3. Verse 17: The _____________ of the Spirit to the giver’s credit.
4. Verse 18: God will _____________ every need of the giver
