1 John 2:28-3:3
November 17, 2024
Dr. Kelly B. Burton
The apostle John keeps heaping up reasons for the Christian to be assured of their salvation. In chapter 1 he invited us to take the test of doctrine. Knowing what you believe bolsters your assurance. In chapter 2 John invites us to take the test of perseverance. If you are not a quitter and you keep persevering in your adversities, you should be assured of your salvation. Now in ch 2:28-3:3 John pitches us the test of transformation. Are we changing more and more like Christ? If so, you will be confident when Christ returns. Every adopted son and daughter of God will undoubtedly be saved.
